Until the nineteenth century, mathematicians thought that the axiom could be proved. So in the eighteenth century, many mathematicians tried to prove it with anti-evidence; two possible negative things appear: "There exists at least one point through which no straight line is parallel to the given line through" and "There exists at least one point through which at least two lines exist. Straight parallel different passing. ” Clearly explaining those two opposite things gave rise to two new types of geometry in the following century. In Ancient times, trigonometry developed as a secondary technique of astronomy, so it was the Greek astronomers Asistarque de Samos (3rd century BC) and Hipparque de Nicée (2nd century BC) are the pioneering trigonometricians. The Greeks of Alexandria, C. Ptolémée (around 80-160 AD) gathered all the knowledge of the time in their treatise called the "Astronomy Book" (Almageste).
